WELCOME BACK DEERFIELD FAMILIES!
The summer is behind us as we get ready for a great new year at Deerfield Elementary (at our temporary location on Karen Ann). The temporary school site is ready to open its doors on September 2nd. Here's a few reminders:
1. We'll be serving popsicles at 4 PM on Wednesday, September 1st outside the school's office when the class lists are posted.
2. We'll be taking special care of our incoming Kinder families on Thursday, September 2nd during the Early Bird and Late Bird arrivals. Come stop by for some treats and meet members of the PTA.
3. PTA packets will be heading home on Thursday, September 9th. Please be sure to become a member and support the various programs that the PTA funds for Deerfield students.
WHAT IS PTA?
The Deerfield Elementary PTA serves the students, staff and families of Deerfield Elementary in Irvine, CA! You will find that we have a very fun and active PTA organization at Deerfield Elementary. Deerfield PTA is a local unit, part of the Irvine Council PTA and the Fourth District of the California PTA, as well as our state and national organizations. The PTA is a great way to be involved with your child’s education and contribute to the enrichment of Deerfield’s programs. It’s also a great way to get to know the faculty and staff, as well as the other families that make up the Deerfield community.

WHAT DOES THE PTA DO?
The Deerfield PTA provides funds to supplement the school’s budget for such items as:
- Educational assemblies for 1st - 6th grades (3 assemblies per year funded by PTA)
- Field trips for kindergarten
- Music for K - 3rd grades (fully funded by PTA)
- Health Clerk/Media/Library
- Disaster preparedness
- Classroom supplies
- Lunchtime Activities
In addition, the PTA
• Works with the school to continually improve the tools and technology available to our kids.
• Sponsors many fun and enriching events during the school year, such as educational assemblies.
• Provides parents with resources to keep them informed of school activities.
• Is an unlimited source of fun and satisfaction for all those involved.
• Is a volunteer organization, and can always use your help!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
• Join PTA! New members are welcomed any time, but our annual membership drive kicks off in September
• Take part in our annual Direct Donation Drive (it helps pay for the programs mentioned above)
• Come to a PTA meeting, participate in Dine-Outs
• Volunteer
